UNIVERSAL CITY, CA. (Aug. 7, 2025) — Universal Studios Hollywood’s Halloween Horror Nights returns with a chilling new slate of attractions, featuring Amazon MGM Studios’ iconic horror film Poltergeist, the fan-favorite Terror Tram: Enter the Blumhouse, and the explosive stunt show The Purge: Dangerous Waters. The annual event kicks off Thursday, Sept. 4, and runs on select nights through Sunday, Nov. 2.
Poltergeist, considered one of the scariest films of all time since its 1982 release, will be brought to life exclusively at Universal Studios Hollywood. The haunted house attraction will plunge guests into eerie scenes from the film, including the haunting Freeling family home, as they are beckoned to “go into the light.”
Back on the historic Universal backlot, the Terror Tram: Enter the Blumhouse attraction lets guests step off the iconic Studio Tour tram and walk through terrifying encounters with villains from Blumhouse’s horror franchises. Featured characters include The Grabber from The Black Phone, the possessed from Exorcist: The Believer, M3GAN, killers from The Purge series, demons from the Insidious films, the Blissfield Butcher from Freaky, and the Babyface Killer from Happy Death Day.
Guests who upgrade to the R.I.P. Tour will have exclusive opportunities to interact with select characters. General Admission guests can enjoy a special photo opportunity after exiting the tram.
Returning to the WaterWorld venue, The Purge: Dangerous Waters stunt show delivers a high-octane, fire-fueled performance as guests attempt to survive a chaotic night of anarchy.
This year’s event also features four all-new scare zones:
Chainsaw Clownz, a frenzied troupe of chainsaw-wielding maniacs
Carnival of Carnage, a twisted funhouse experience
Noche de Brujas, a supernatural scare zone encountered after escaping the haunted house Monstruos 3: The Ghosts of Latin America
Murder of Crowz, a returning favorite with vicious defenders of their nest
These attractions join previously announced haunted houses, including:
Fallout, based on the Prime Video series
Five Nights at Freddy’s, from Blumhouse’s hit movie
Terrifier, the cult horror film franchise
WWE Presents: The Horrors of The Wyatt Sicks, featuring the supernatural wrestling group
