LAS VEGAS (June 18, 2025) — Universal Destinations & Experiences has revealed new details about Universal Horror Unleashed, including its Universal Monsters haunted house, a gothic-themed area called Dead Storage, and a twisted cocktail bar known as The Boiler. The first-ever year-round horror attraction from Universal opens Aug. 14 at AREA15 in Las Vegas.
In the Universal Monsters haunted house, iconic characters from classic horror films break free from the silver screen to stalk guests. Visitors will enter through the crumbling mausoleum of famed monster hunter Van Helsing and journey into realms haunted by genre-defining creatures. From the shadowy halls of Castle Dracula to the sandy tombs of The Mummy and the electrified lab of Frankenstein and the Bride, the haunted house unites cinema’s most legendary monsters in a continuous nightmare.
Before entering Van Helsing’s world, guests will encounter Dead Storage, a themed area set within an abandoned production warehouse. The experience draws inspiration from the grandeur of Universal’s early horror films and immerses visitors in a shadowy environment filled with forgotten set pieces and eerie relics reclaimed by creatures of the night — including vampires and a transforming werewolf.
Beyond Dead Storage lies The Boiler, a sinister cocktail bar set at the heart of the venue where multiple horror zones converge. The Boiler pulses with heat and menace, offering guests a place to enjoy craft cocktails beneath a flaming mechanical structure while still remaining immersed in the overall experience.
Universal Horror Unleashed includes four immersive zones and four haunted houses: Universal Monsters; Blumhouse’s The Exorcist: Believer; Texas Chainsaw Massacre; and Scarecrow: The Reaping. The attraction also features themed food and beverage offerings, specialty bars, and a retail space with exclusive merchandise.
