Sofi Mayen is back with her liberating, heartfelt ballad “Me Estoy Cansando De Ti,” part of her album Normal, out today. Normal is an album where everything that is said and felt is part of that human process—intense, confusing, and necessary—that we all go through because, yes, feeling is also normal.
As a reminder that you are important in this moment in space and time, the Mexican singer's powerful sensitivity pierces us once again with “Me Estoy Cansando De Ti” (I'm getting tired of you), a song that’s ready to be part of our life’s soundtrack. The new song is one of Sofi's most intimate and vulnerable songs, a catharsis turned into a song for those who have experienced—or are experiencing—something similar. Her interpretation says it all: some wounds deserve to be named, a clear message that reminds us never to accept being treated in a submissive manner.
“I try to narrate situations from my daily life, and ultimately, the fact that these stories resonate with other people is what creates bonds that give us that direct connection with our audience,” Sofi Mayen said about the new single.
“Me Estoy Cansando De Ti” is also a way of recognizing who brings us peace and growth, of distancing ourselves from toxic relationships of all kinds, of being authentic, open, strong-willed, and—why not?—spiritually empowered. It’s a very frank and forthright song, but realistic about ourselves.
“Me Estoy Cansando De Ti” is part of Sofi's new album, entitled Normal—the material she dreamed, worked, imagined, and built—step by step—on her path as a solo artist. It is a project in which she captured her most profound experiences, marking a turning point in her career. Normal is a personal experience. It helped her let go and close chapters of her own life with love and gratitude, capturing beautiful things—and others not so beautiful—but experiences that make us learn and grow as people.
“Life is too short to spend it feeling bad. Be true to the person who looks you straight in the eye when you look in the mirror. Be kind to yourself, honor your feelings, love yourself, [and] embrace every stage you are in because it is all part of your personal growth,” Sofi advises her fans. “Everything will be okay. And above all... What you are feeling is absolutely NORMAL. Shout it out!”
To celebrate the new album release, Sofi will perform at the Rebel Rebel in Mexico City, Mexico, on August 15. Check out ticket information here.
