Universal Studios Hollywood is partnering with Grammy-winning guitarist and songwriter SLASH to develop an exclusive series of original experiences for this year’s Halloween Horror Nights, which kicks off Thursday, Sept. 4.
The collaboration includes an original score by SLASH for the haunted house Scarecrow: Music by SLASH, marking the seventh consecutive year the artist has composed music for the event. The haunted house centers around vengeful scarecrows, enforcers of nature’s wrath against past homesteaders’ sins.
SLASH, known for scoring each haunted house like a film, brings an immersive sense of fear to the experience through his cinematic composition.
The event will also feature the vinyl-only release of SLASH: Music of Universal Studios Hollywood – Halloween Horror Nights, Volume 2, a follow-up to last year’s sold-out album. The new album compiles music created by SLASH over the past six years for various haunted houses. It includes a tribute by Halloween Horror Nights Creative Director and Executive Producer John Murdy and will be available for purchase at the park.
Track listing for Volume 2 includes:
Side A
“The Hunted Becomes The Hunter” – 4:21 (2021)
“Monsters, Maniacs, and Madmen (Universal Monsters Medley)” – 5:08 (2018)
“The Blood is Life” – 3:38 (2021)
“The Collection Room / Dracula’s Lair” – 2:45 (2018)

“Immortal Curses” – 4:26 (2022)

“Bloodline Drawn” – 5:02 (2024)
“Unholy Alliance” – 3:15 (2024)
Fans will also be able to visit the themed SLASH Bar at Jurassic Cove, located above Jurassic World—The Ride. The venue will serve specialty cocktails inspired by SLASH’s music, including “The Danse of the Dead,” “Beautiful Dangerous,” and the non-alcoholic “SLASH’s Snakepit.” The bar menu will feature several of SLASH’s favorite dishes, including Chicken Satay Tacos, Thai Beef Tacos, Thai Curry Tacos, and a SLASH Hat cake styled after his iconic top hat.
A costumed SLASH scare-actor — complete with signature curls and top hat — will roam the SLASH Bar, engaging with guests. Guests must be 21 and over with valid photo ID to purchase alcoholic beverages.
“As a longtime fan of Halloween Horror Nights, it’s been incredibly rewarding to not only experience it as a guest, but also to help shape the event with original music,” SLASH said. “This year’s collaboration is especially exciting, and I can’t wait for guests to step into the terror.”
“SLASH has been an important creative partner for years, delivering music that elevates our haunted houses,” said Murdy. “Creating SLASH-inspired interactive experiences was a natural evolution and a fitting tribute to his influence on our horror legacy.”
