Apple TV+ has released the trailer for Season 2 of Platonic, the critically acclaimed half-hour comedy starring and executive produced by Seth Rogen and Rose Byrne.
The 10-episode second season will premiere globally on Apple TV+ on Wednesday, Aug. 6, 2025, with the first two episodes, followed by one new episode weekly through Oct. 1.
Co-created, directed and co-written by Nicholas Stoller and Francesca Delbanco, the second season of Platonic follows best friends (played by Rogen and Byrne) as they navigate new midlife challenges, including work, weddings and complicated relationships. As the two try to be each other’s emotional anchor, they discover that even rocks can cause damage.
Returning cast members include Luke Macfarlane and Carla Gallo. New guest stars this season include Aidy Bryant, Kyle Mooney, Beck Bennett and Milo Manheim.
Platonic is produced by Sony Pictures Television, where Stoller’s Global Solutions has an overall deal. Byrne, Stoller, Delbanco and Conor Welch serve as executive producers, along with Rogen, Evan Goldberg and James Weaver for Point Grey Pictures.
In addition to Platonic, Rogen also stars in Apple TV+’s hit comedy The Studio, which recently earned 23 Emmy nominations, including outstanding comedy series — the most nominations ever for a freshman comedy. Rogen also wrote, directed and executive produced The Studio alongside Goldberg. Byrne also stars in the Apple TV+ dark comedy Physical.
Apple TV+ offers original drama and comedy series, feature films, documentaries, and family programming, and is available across a variety of devices. Since its launch on Nov. 1, 2019, Apple TV+ has garnered 580 wins and 2,761 award nominations to date, including for the Emmy-winning comedy Ted Lasso and the Oscar-winning Best Picture CODA.
