The rising Venezuelan artist BASKIAT has released his newest genre-less EP, MIRANDA, an innovative and melancholic musical expression that defies genres, incorporating elements of trap, experimental electronic, hyperpop, and beyond.
To embark on his genre-less sonic journey, BASKIAT is introducing MIRANDA, ahead of his highly anticipated debut album that’s set to be released later this year. MIRANDA counts with five different emotional sounds that will surely resonate with his fan base. The EP opens with the romantic, electronic, and experimental track “Nubes,” followed by the electronic and synth-forward song “All Day” featuring Santalus, and the bass-heavy, trap-tinged “Pa Yo Ver” featuring VerZuhk and soffyy. The EP’s second half continues with the upbeat electronic and pop track “NTV,” and the EP’s focus single, “Miranda,” which features captivating violins that the artist recorded himself. “Miranda” is an ode to his upbringing as a young violinist in Venezuelan orchestras, showcasing the diverse range of his musicianship.
Born Cesar Betancourt, BASKIAT is one of the most promising acts in the contemporary music scene coming from Venezuela. At the beginning of his career as a violinist, his skills led him to perform alongside notable masterminds, including Venezuelan conductor Gustavo Dudamel (National Children's Orchestra [Orquesta Nacional Infantil] in Italy, 2015) and Brazilian conductor Diego Carneiro (Youth Orchestra of Ecuador [Orquesta Juvenil de Ecuador], 2019). As a songwriter, composer, and multi-genre artist, he has also collaborated with diverse artists, including Big Soto, Akapellah, Maiky Moves, and others.
