With over fifty years of musical trajectory, the emblematic Bolivian folk group Los Kjarkas is coming to the U.S. for a historical farewell tour. The special “Despidiendo a Gonzalo Hermosa” tour will be a farewell celebration to their founding member, Gonzalo Hermosa, who is officially saying goodbye to the iconic band. The nine-city tour, produced by Mautino Productions and SLenVivo, will take the group to Miami, Chicago, Houston, and more cities.
Los Kjarkas are known for their hits like “Llorando Se Fue,” “Tiempo al Tiempo,” “Imillitay,” “Ave de Cristal,” and “El Árbol de Mi Destino.” Formed in 1971 by the lead vocalist and composer Gonzalo Hermosa González with his brothers Ulises and Élmer, the band is recognized today as one of the most important Andean and Latin American folk bands in history. They are pioneers for putting their home region’s traditional music on global stages – and now they’re coming back to the U.S. to perform once again. On this new tour, fans will have the last opportunity to witness music history and say goodbye to Gonzalo Hermosa, who is set to retire from the stage. It is set to be the greatest farewell in the history of Andrean folklore.
