Dolores Huerta Celebrates Her 95th Birthday at Fundraiser

NEWS x MUSE - Josslyn Glenn talks with longtime grassroots activist and United Farm Workers Association founding member Dolores Huerta at her 95th birthday celebration @ laplazala in DTLA, with special appearances by Edward James Olmos, MKY and Xolo Maridueña.

The reception was flooded by helicopters overhead as the vendors at the historically preserved Plaza Olvera across the street remained closed due to an I.C.E. raid sweeping Los Angeles County.

Huerta addressed this in her opening speech, speaking about the detainment and arrest of Mexican poet, David Huerta (no relation), in the raid. Huerta spoke of her joining the Justice For My Sister non-profit organization, of which her daughter, Juanita Chavez currently sits on their advisory board.
