LOS ANGELES (July 17, 2025) — The Imagen Foundation on Thursday announced the nominees for the 40th annual Imagen Awards, continuing its four-decade tradition of celebrating storytelling, community and the richness of Latino talent shaping the entertainment industry.
This year’s ceremony is scheduled for Friday, Aug. 22, at the Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills. Red carpet arrivals will begin at 5:30 p.m., followed by the awards program at 7 p.m.
“We’re proud to shine a spotlight on the extraordinary contributions of Latino artists, creators and visionaries who continue to break barriers and redefine Hollywood,” said Helen Hernandez, president of the Imagen Foundation. “At a time when Latino voices are still too often left out of the spotlight, Imagen remains fiercely committed to honoring the work that moves culture forward.”
The 2025 Imagen Awards received more than 300 submissions across 27 categories, recognizing performances and storytelling in television, film and streaming. Among the top-nominated projects are Acapulco (Apple TV+; Lionsgate Television / 3Pas Studios / The Tannenbaum Company) and Andor (Disney+ and Lucasfilm).
Streaming platforms Apple TV+, Disney+ and Netflix led the list of nominees, highlighting the growing demand for inclusive and authentic Latino storytelling. Nominees are selected by panels of entertainment industry professionals and Latino community leaders.
“The talent represented this year is nothing short of phenomenal,” Hernandez said. “From fresh voices to veteran powerhouses, these nominees reflect the breadth, depth and brilliance of Latino storytelling. We applaud every nominee for helping to build a more inclusive industry and for inspiring the next generation of creators.”
As the Imagen Foundation marks its 40th anniversary, the milestone offers a moment of reflection on the organization’s mission. Founded in 1985 at the suggestion of television producer Norman Lear, the foundation was created to promote accurate and meaningful portrayals of Latinos in media. Since then, Imagen has expanded its work to provide access, education and career resources to both emerging and established talent in the entertainment industry.
